Problems with Hezbollah communications

Under the byline, "Why the knownledge of History is important."

After the killing of the 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team members by the Black September Organization in Munich in September 1972.

A covert operation was authorised by Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir in the autumn of 1972, directed the Mossad to assassinate individuals they accused of being involved in the 1972 Munich massacre code named Operation Bayonet (Hebrew: מבצע זעם האל, Mivtza Za'am Ha'el,   'Operation Wrath of God') was initiated.

The targets were members of the Palestinian terrorist group "Black September"who were operatives of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO).

'Operation Wrath of God' is believed to have continued for over twenty years.

Aharon Yariv, the Israeli minister of information, was in charge of the assassination plans of 'Operation Wrath of God' targeting those associated and active members of the "Black September" terrorist group.

Mahmoud Hamshari (Arabic: محمود الهمشري; 1939–1973) was identified through communications by Israeli Intelligence as the leader of the Black September Organization in France directly related to the murderous terrorist attack in Munich.

A Mossad agent acting as an Italian journalist contacted Hamshari to make an interview. When he was meeting with the Mossad agent, a group of operatives from the Mossad’s burglary unit entered into his home and inserted a bomb under a telephone. This group was headed by Zvi Malchin.

Hamshari was severely wounded at his home on Paris's Rue d'Alésia street on the morning of 8 December 1972 by a booby-trapped device remotely controlled through a telephone call. He died in a Paris hospital on 9 January 1973.
